NGO Involvement

  • Chairperson, Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA), one of the biggest human rights formation in the country composed of more than 40 sectoral Human Rights NGOs working on various human rights issues and/or concerns like women, children, indigenous peoples, Moro, peasants, workers, church people, etc.
  • Executive Director, Philippine Human Rights Information Center (PHILRIGHTS), a human rights education and information center engaged in advocacy work on economic, social and cultural rights in the Philippines
  • Board Member, Medical Action Group, Inc., a human rights NGO advocating right to health and freedom from torture, cruel and inhuman treatment and punishment of prisoners
  • Member, Executive Committee of the Asian Forum of Human Rights and Development (Forum-Asia), a regional network of 82 member organisations across 23 countries, mainly in Asia founded in 1991; FORUM-ASIA works to strengthen movements for human rights and sustainable development through research, advocacy, capacity development and solidarity actions in Asia and beyond.
